Heaven can't wait

Just when you think this UIGEA vindictiveness can't get any worse, suddenly not even Heaven seems safe:

'FBI INVESTIGATES GAMBLING IN SECOND LIFE'

Second Life, I now understand, is the virtual world they don't talk about in the New Testament.

The Sands Casino - due to be demolished this year - went through its pockets one last time last week and experienced the corporate equivalent of finding a forgotten ten buck note.

This being the 'corporate equivalent', however, the actual amount was closer to 17 grand.

When they totalled up all the loose coins that had fallen between or beneath the Atlantic City casino's 2,350 slot machines over the last 26 years, it came to $17,193.34.

"The money belongs to Pinnacle Entertainment Inc., the Las Vegas company that purchased the Sands last year. New Jersey gets 8 percent of the money in taxes - the same as it would had the money been won from gamblers."
Something about the rich getting richer springs to mind...

..........................................................................

Be honest, now, it was getting far too quiet to be true down at publicity-shy Golden Palace...
